Your Church Roof (sieve) – Repair Update No 1)
As of Friday 2nd February, when a site meeting was held with Alfie Spencer and Andy Hare from the main contractors, Pinnacle, Carl Andrews our architect and Jess Rudman and Phill Kicks representing St John’s, I am happy to submit my first report on the Roof project.
The scaffolding is complete on the South side.
All metal drainage work has been ordered and delivery expected 12/02 and work on site to start 13/02.
Investigations have taken place now that the roof scaffolding is in place which identified some issues, but a workaround was put in place.
With the work planned to start week commencing 12/02 a very extensive discussion was held with the main points highlighted below:
- Toilet issues for staff on site, due to drainage – resolved with Portaloo ordered as variation at £35 per week; this also means no need to come and unlock every morning.
- Project was 4 weeks behind according to plan which with the current plan would run into July-August – this was not acceptable.
- The plan was revised in light of the time factor which will see the scaffolding going up on the North side of the Church in the near future.
As a result of all the discussions the project is being replanned and realigned as per the original guidelines, with final completion and billing being 30th June.
The next major milestones:
- Roofers on site and starting work.
- New guttering fitted
- Strip down of the south roof.
- Scaffolding on the North side to start.
