“Bread on the Journey…Wine for Rejoicing” – a 2014 selection of poems by Carole Moorhouse and friends.

This is the title of the book of poems compiled by St John’s church member Carole Moorhouse after inviting contributions from people she knows, as a follow-up to her first collection of poems in 2011, “It don’t have to Rhyme, Not All of the Time”.

In the end this collection turned out to be a true community project , with 48 people – nearly a third of them children – joining Carole in contributing poems; various church members helped with assembly of the book and the Rotary Club of Worksopcontributed generously towards production costs and expenses.

The book was published in December 2014, priced at £4 each.  All proceeds from sales will go to charitable causes; half will go to the St John’s Church Hall re-roofing fund, and half will go to Compassion UK, the charity that supports children and young people in other less wealthy countries to gain an education, and helps their families and communities as part of this.
